| motion | a change in position over time. |
| speed | an object is a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time. |
| vector | a quantity that has both size and direction. |
| velocity | a speed in a specific direction. |
| position | describes the location of an object. |
| acceleration | the rate at which velocity changes. |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in circular motion. |
| force | simply a push or pull. |
| net force | the combination of all the forces acting on an object. |
| inertia | the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion. |
| gravity | a force of attraction between objects due to their mass. |
| free fall | when gravity is pulling something down and no other forces are acting on it. |
| orbit | when something travels around another object in space. |
