| reference point | a location to which you compare other locations. |
| motion | a change in position over time. |
| speed | a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time. |
| vector | a quantity that has both size and direction. |
| velocity | speed in a specific direction. |
| acceleration | the rate at which velocity changes. |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in a circular motion. |
| force | a push or a pull. |
| net force | the combination of all the forces acting on an object. |
| inertia | the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion. |
| gravity | a force of attraction between objects due to their mass. |
| free fall | when gravity is pulling it down and no other forces are acting on it. |
| orbit | when it travels around other objects in space. |
