Unit 1

Position describes location of an object
Reference Point a location in which you compare other locations
Motion change in position over time
Speed measure of how far an object moves in a given amount of time
Vector quantity that has speed and direction
Velocity speed in a specific direction
Acceleration rate at which velocity changes
Centripetal accelertion acceleration in a circular motion
Force a push or pull
Net force the combination of all forces acting on an object
Gravity a force of attraction between objects due to their mass
Inertia tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion
Free fall when gravity is pulling down and no other forces are acting on it
Orbit when an object travels around another object in space
