Positive reinforcement is? something that always increases reinforcement.
Negative reinforcement is? Is the removal of an adverse (annoying) stimulus.
Three types of memory are? Sensory (fleeting), Short-Term (7+ or - 2, and Long-Term (stored).
Mnemonics is? A way of remembering a lot of information.
What does memory require? Effort.
Cognition is? Mental activities associated with thinking, knowing, remembering, and communication.
Concept is? Mental grouping of items that are similar.
Prototype is? A mental image or best example of a catagory.
What is a step by step procedure to guarantee a solution? Algorithm.
What is a sudden and often novel realization to the answer of a problem? Insight.
Creativity is the ability to do what? Produce ideas that are both novel (new) and valuable.
Morpheme is what? The smallest unit of language that has meaning.
Intelligence is our ability to do what? Learn from experience, solve problems, and adapt to our environment.
A person who has low intellect, but they have a brilliant side is called a? Savant.
What are Sternbergs 3 Intellects? Analytical (book smarts), Creative, and Practical (street smarts)
Emotional Intelligence is when we what? Learn how to act in social situations and manage our lives successfully.
What are the four parts to Emotional Intelligence? Perceive, understand, Manage, and Use emotions.
Taking score from pretested groups, which becomes the bases for future comparisons is known as what? Standardization.
Reliability gives you what? Consistent scores no matter who takes the test.
Valid means? The test measured what it is suppose to measure.
IQ is a good predictor of what? Future academic success.
What is a major source of energy in our bodies? Glucose.
People become obese for what reasons? Social reasons and genetic reasons.
