| Position | describes the location of an object |
| reference point | a location to which you compare other locations |
| motion | change in position over time |
| speed | a measure of how far something moves in a given amount of time (s=d/t) |
| vector | quantity that has both size and direction |
| velocity | speed in a specific direction |
| acceleration | the rate at which velocity changes |
| centripetal acceleration | acceleration in a circular motion |
| force | a push or pull |
| net force | the combination of all the forces acting on an object |
| inertia | the tendency of all objects to resist a change in motion |
| gravity | force of attraction between two objects due to their mass |
| free fall | when gravity is pulling down and no other force is acting on something |
| orbit | when something travels around another object in space |
