TermDefinition
Management This is an operational process which involves analysing the essential managerial functions of planning, organisation, staffing, directing & controlling.
Time Management This involves making the most cost-effective use of the time available to complete a task effectively.
Leadership It has been defined as the means by which individuals or groups of people are persuaded by management to work towards the achievement of agreed goals.
Employer This is the boss who pays the wages & gives instructions.
Motivation This is the set of forces that cause people to behave in certain ways.
Delegation This involves giving subordinates the responsibility for specific areas of work & the authority to make decisions related to these areas.
Autocratic leadership This type of leadership delegates little authority to others & does not consult others in making decisions.
Democratic leadership This leadership style shares power with others & delegates authority to subordinates.
Laissez-Faire leadership This style of leadership delegates almost all authority to subordinates, interferes very little & places trust in the abilities & decisions of subordinates.
Controlling This involves ensuring an organisation stays on coarse to meet its objectives by checking results against the targets & taking corrective action if necessary.
