| Acceleration | An increase or decrease of velocity |
| Displacement | The movement of an object from one place to another, signaling that velocity or work has occurred |
| Magnitude | The scalar number that is associated with a vector |
| Scalar quantity | A number with out direction |
| Speed | The rate at which something moves regardless of its direction |
| Vector quantity | A quantity that has not only magnitude, but also direction, such as velocity |
| Velocity | The rate of change in a position of an object; the change in distance over the change of time (V = d/t) |
