What is Pharmacology the study of the effects of chemical substances on the function of living systems
Drug can be defined as a chemical substance of known structure, other than a nutrient or an essential dietary ingredient, which, when administered to a living organism, produces a biological effect
Where do drugs come from? Drugs may be synthetic chemicals, chemicals obtained from plants or animals, or products of genetic engineering
Pharacogentics the study of genetic influences on responses to drugs. Variation in drug response based on genetics.
Pharmacogenomics : individual genetic information guides the choice of drug therapy
Pharmacoepidemiology the study of drug effects at the population level
Pharmacoeconomics a branch of health economics that aims to quantify in economic terms the cost and benefit of drugs used therapeutically
