What would I share with another peer? Early diagnosis is so important. Often these children are very intelligent and capable and we cannot afford to lose them by not actively helping them develop other ways to be successful.
What is one of the primary challenges that a student with a learning disability would face in the classroom? Students will have more difficulty processing and organizing information. Therefore assessments will be difficult making learning intimidating and resulting in students disengaging from the process and or losing self-esteem.
What would be an area to target as an educator for students with LD? This is where tiers of success will really come into play as well as the three principles of UDL. How does this student learn best, can we use that as a starting point?
