Milliamperage (mA) A measurement of xray tube current
X-ray Quantity A measure of the number of xray photons in the useful beam
X-ray Quality Measurement of the penetrating ability of the xray beam
Direct Square Law
15 Percent Rule An increase in kVp by 15 percent that causes a doubling in exposure
Prime Factor Factors related to xray emission directly under control of radiographer
Milliamperage-second (mAs) The product of tube current and exposure time
Reciprocity Law The density on an xray should remain unchanged as long as the intensity and duration of exposure remains the same
Penetrability The ability of xrays to pass through structures and tissues
