Extreme niches: two types Entrapping and Enabling
Entrapping Niches *highly stigmatized: people commonly treated as outcasts *turn to their "own Kind" thereby restricting social world *totally defined by social category *separate and individual aspirations and attributes not usually considered...no upward mobility.
Entrapping Niche continued few incentives for long term goals little reality feedback little chance to learn new skills economic resources are sparse often reserved for those on margins of social life
