| distance | how far an object moves. |
| displacement | distance and direction of an object change in positon from the strating point. |
| speed | distance an object travles per unit of time |
| average speed | total distance an object travles divide by the total time takes to travel that distance |
| instantaneous speed | speed of an object at a given point in time is constant for an object moveing with constant for an obkect that is slowing down or speeding up |
| velocity | the speed and direction of a moveing obejct |
| acceleration | rate of change of velocity can be calculated by dividing the change vin the velocity by the time it takes the change to occur |
| force | push or pull exrted on an object |
| net force | sum of the forces that are acting on an object |
| balanced force | force on object that combineb to give a zero net forc and do not change the motion of the object |
| inertia | resistance of an object to a change in its motion |
