Fact A detail that is proven to be true
Evaluate To determine the value or worth of something
Opinion A personal belief, not necessarily based on fact
Narrative A type of writing that tells or retells a story or event
Technical A type of writing that gives instructions
Persuasive A kind of writing that convinces the reader to consider the writer's point of view
Expository A kind of writing that explains or informs on a particular subject
Alliance The merging of effects between 2 or more groups or people to stand up against a common enemy
Compromise A solution reached when each side makes a change or concession
Affect To move or change the feelings, emotions, actions, or thoughts of a person or thing
Effect The result of a particular action
Tradition A continued behavior or action that is passed on, usually related to family or religion
Improvise To create or put together without practice
Treacherous Dangerously unstable and with the potential to cause death
Anniversary The yearly remembrance of a certain date
