mountains a land mass with great height and steep sides, higher than a hill
peninsula a piece of land surrounded on nearly all sides by water
plains a large, flat area of land without trees
plateau a high, level area of land
river a large natural stream of water flowing in a particular course to another body of water
sea a small body of fresh or salt water
strait a narrow body of water between two larger bodies of water
tributary a river or stream that flows into a larger river or stream
volcanoe an opening in the earth's crust through which melted rock, ash and gases are forced out
