water cycle movement of water on Earth between the air, land, and oceans
precipitation any form of water that falls from the sky/clouds; rain, sleet, snow, hail
condensation change from gas to liquid; water vapor forms small droplets of water
evaporation change from liquid into a gas; example: water vapor
water vapor gaseous state of water
hydrosphere water on or surrounding the surface of the globe (oceans, atmosphere)
air mass large body of air that has the same temperature and level of humidity
humidity amount of water vapor in the air
fog cloudlike mass layer of water droplets near the surface
transpiration movement of water through a plant; roots to atmosphere
saturation WET!; cannot take on any more water
runoff rain lands on top of a mountain, travels down to lower ground, moves over and through rocks/soil, and joins a larger body of water to form rivers, lakes, streams, etc
collection water collecting in an area
