Histogram A bar graph that displays data from a frequency table.
Symmetric Data values distributed in the same way above and below the middle of the sample.

Skewed Right Data that is mostly on the left hand side with the long-tail on the "right".
Bell Shaped Symmetric graphed data in the shape of a bell.
Uniform When the observations in a set of data are equally spread across the range of the distribution.
Unimodal Distributions with "one" clear peak.
Bimodal Distributions with "two" clear peaks.
Gap Areas of a distribution where there are no observations.
Outlier An extreme value that differs greatly from the other observations.
Measures of Central Tendency Measurements that summarize the middle of a data set.
Mean The sum of the data values divided by the total number of data values "AVERAGE".
Median The middle value in a data set when the data is arranged in numerical order.
Mode The data value that occurs most often.
Measures of Dispersion Describes how spread out the values in a data set are.
Range The difference between the greatest and least values.
Quartiles Values that divide a list of numbers into four parts "quarters".
Interquartile Range The difference between the third and first quartile.
Box-and-Whisker Plot Shows the distribution of a set of data along a number line, dividing the data into four parts using the median and quartiles.
