TermDefinition
Conversion Factor An arithmetical multiplier for converting a quantity expressed in one set of units into an equivalent expressed in another.
Unit Rate A rate that describes how many units of the first type of quantity corresponds to ONE unit of the second type of quantity.
Ratio A comparison of two numbers by division.
Rate A ratio that is used to compare different kinds of quantities.
Unit Analysis The process of deciding which conversion factor will produce the appropriate unit when converting from one unit to another.
Level of Accuracy A measurement that appropriately scales a given situation(real-world) without being to misleading.
Scale Drawing A drawing that is similiar, but either larger or smaller than the actual object.
Scale Factor The ratio of a given length on a drawing or model to its corresponding actual length.
