What are factors that would raise the risk of suicide? | White, Native American, Male, unsatisfactory career, alone, alcohol and drug consumption, etc. |
Egoistic suicide: | Suicide committed because of Dramatic change |
Altruistic suicide: | Suicide committed For the greater good; for honor |
Anomic suicide | Suicide Committed for Hopelessness, difficulties reasons. (depression) |
Victims of Suicide include: | Children & adolescents, college students, Elderly peoples |
What is Lethality? | The probability of ending one's life |
When working with potentially suicidal person: (3 things) | 1. Know associated factors. 2. Determine probability (lethality). 3. Implement appropriate action |
Clues to Suicidal Intent: | Precipitating intent, "Practice Run", putting affairs into order, take long trip, depression, insomnia, guilt, Verbal comm. of intent, etc. |
