| Streptokinase | MOA: + plasminogen (plasmin then degrades fibrin) & also catalyzes degradation of fibrinogen & factors 5 & 7, derived from streptococci; *Note antagonist is aminocaproic acid* |
| Urokinase | MOA: works to degrade fibrin by + plasminogen, less antigenic than streptokinase b/c its derived from human fetal renal cells rather than bacteria |
| Tissue type Plasminogen Activator (tPA aka alteplase) | MOA: 'fibrin selective,' so only + plasmin that is already bound to fibrin, thus targets only those areas that have already begun to form clots = allows for targeted tx w/o many complications, very effective for MI, PE & acute ischemic stroke |
