TermDefinition
Respiratory system: it handles the body's air supply.
Respiration: body process that uses oxygen to release energy in food.
Trachea: main tube or wind pipe through which air passes to and from the lungs.
Lungs: sponge like organ used to take air into the body.
nasel passage: the place where oxygen rich air enters the body.
bronchial tubes: two tubes that lead from the trachea to the lungs
larynx: voice box at the top of the trachea that helps a person speak.
alveoli: small sacs in the lungs where gases are exchanged
diaphragm: muscle under the lungs that is part of the respiratory system.
