What are at least two reasons teaching is considered to be a complex activity? 1.Teachers have daily responsibility for diverse populations of students with varied and sometimes contradictory needs. 2.Teachers are constantly making decisions - before and after instruction as well as on the spot.
What is grade retention? In what demographic does it most often occur? Having a student repeat a year because of poor achievment. Mostly occurs in students of low SES.
What are the 5 characteristics of most scientific studies? Sampling, control, objectivity, publication, replication.
What are at least 3 factors that complicate scientific study of behaviour and thought processes? 1. the limited focus of research 2. the complexity of teaching and learning 3. the selection and interpretation of data 4. the revision of ideas because of new findings
