QuestionAnswer
Period (T) time for one cycle
wavelength length of space over which 1 cycle occurs
PRP (pulse repetition period) time from beginning of one pulse to beginning of next pulse
PD (pulse duration) time for 1 pulse
DF (duty factor) amount of time that PW is on
SPL (spatial pulse length) length (distance) of pulse from end to end
Intensity (I) rate that energy passes through a unit area
attenuation (a) the weakening of sound as it travels
Impedance (z) amount of an incident sound wave that is reflected back through the 1st medium and how much is transmitted into 2nd medium
amplitude the maximum variation that occurs in a variable
range distance from the transducer to an echo-generating structure
