| Electromagnetic Wave - | a wave that consist of oscillatentig eletric and magnectic fields which redidle outward at the speed of light |
| transverse wave - | a wave in which the particles of the meduim move perpindiclular to the direction the wave is traveling. |
| longitudinal wave - | a wave in which the particles of the meduim vibrate parallel to the direction of wave motion. |
| crest - | the highest point of a wave. |
| trough - | the lowest point of the wave. |
| amplitude - | the maximum distance that the particles of wave meduim vibrate from there rest position |
| wavelenghth - | the distance frim any point and wave to an identical point on the next wave. |
