How does the diaphram help you breath? It expands causing air to rush to the lungs.
What happens when the air enters the alveoli? Oxygen in the air seeps thru thin walls of the tiny sacs into the surrounding capillaries
What is the main function of the respiratory system? To get oxygen into the body and remove CO2 and H20 from the body.
What is respiration? Energy releasing process that is fueled by O2, H20 and water are provided.
How is the human voice produced? Muscles in the larynx tighten and narrow the opening, the air rushes past causing the vocal cords to vibrate causing sound.
Nose + Throat Warms moistens and filters air.
Larynx & vocal cords Produces voice
Trachea cleans and carries air
Bronchi Carries air to lungs
Lungs & Aveoli Exchanges O2 and CO2
Diaphram Muscles that expand your chest.
Why do we need to breath? The cells of the body need oxygen to survive. Cells use O2 (in the air) to burn food and nutrients received from the blood to supply energy.
