TermDefinition
Effective Successfully attracts and holds the intended audience.
How did it make its point? Look for the style of presentation. A web site may have colorful photos and artwork while a newspaper article may use charts.
Does the style match the message? The newspaper may be more boring then a web site but contain more complete information.
Is the information presented clearly? Determine how hard it is to get information from a source. A textbook may present facts without any entertainment. Yet a television news story may cover the human aspect without presenting any facts.
What part of the information is missing? No form of media can include everything.An online report may leave out background information because of space limitation. An article in a weekly magazine can trace where a problem come from and where it is headed.
