Poetry Structure
| Term | Definition |

| Poetry | a type of literature that may encompass a variety of metered or rhtyhmically measured lines and is intended to evoke an emotional response in the reader. |
| End Rhyme | rhymed on the terminal syllables of the verses. |
| Internal Rhyme | rhyming words found within a line of poetry |
| Consonance | A literary device in which the same consonance sound is repeated two or more times.Same consonant sounds at the beginning or end. |
| Slant Rhyme | When there is a close but not exact rhyme. Vowel sounds are different |
| Assonance | Similar vowel sounds recur, but there is not really full rhyming |
