Memoirs, Biographies, and Autobiographies

TermDefinition
Autobiography A story written by an author about his or her own life.
Biography The story of a person's life written by someone other than the subject of the biography.
Biographer The author of a biography.
Memoir A special type of autobiography.
First-Person The author's point of view told directly by the author as "I" or "me, we, us, etc."
Third-Person A point of view where the author refers to the characters as "he","she",or "they"
