Elements of Fiction
| Term | Definition |

| Author's viewpoint | How he or she feels about the subject. |
| Foreshadowing | To provide a int of what may occur later on in the plot. |
| Symbolism | The author creates symbols from ordinary parts of the plot. |
| Imagery | Presents pictures painted with words to help the reader feel and experience what the author is describing. |
| Irony | When something happens that is the opposite of what is expected. |
