Elements of Fiction

TermDefinition
Author's viewpoint How he or she feels about the subject.
Foreshadowing To provide a int of what may occur later on in the plot.
Symbolism The author creates symbols from ordinary parts of the plot.
Imagery Presents pictures painted with words to help the reader feel and experience what the author is describing.
Irony When something happens that is the opposite of what is expected.
