TermDefinition
Analgesic A drug that reduces the perception of pain. ROA: Orally, topically, and rectally
Anesthetic A substance that causes localized or general loss of sensation.
Antidiabetic Lowers the glucose
Antivirals Interrupt or alter synthesis (the making of new virions at a specific step, thus rendering the virion inactive.
Antibiotic Chemical agent used to stop the growth or replication of microorganisms; generally refers to agents used to treat infections caused by bacteria & parasites. ROA: Topically
Antibiotic Spectrum The variety of microbes a particular antibiotic can treat.
