| Term | Definition |

| Pinch Pot | Push your thumb into the center, and this will help you keep the walls of the piece at an even thickness. |
| Kiln | An oven for heating clay pottery |
| Glaze | A thin coating of glass making materials that melt when fired. |
| Slab | A basic way of building with clay or built-up into forms. |
| Coil Pots | Layered one rope upon an other to create the walls of the pot |
| Scoring | Use any pointed clay tool make X shaped makrs into the clay where you use glue two pieces of clay together |
| Slip | another name for clay glue; simply wet sticky clay |
| Wedging | Kneading the clay by cutting and reforming it in order to expel air and blend all the ingredients |
| Clay | A very fine soil that is moldable when moist but hard when fired |
| Pottery | Objects made with clay |
