Developing Country A poor country whose citizens work mostly in agriculture.
Life Expectancy The average number of years a person from a curtain group lives
Natural Resource Naturally occurring materials that can be used by humans
Scarcity Inadequate supply or shortage
Civil War Fight between different groups within the country
Colony Over seas territory or settlement tied to a parent country
Coral Reef Structure formed by the skeletons of small sea animals
Deforestation Wide spread cutting of forests
Desertification Process by which grasslands turn to deserts
Drought Long period of dryness and water shortages
Genocide Mass murder of people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, politics or culture.
Immigrant Person who moves from one county to another to make a permanent home
Imperialism A system of building foreign empires for military and trade advances
Indigenous Native to or originating from a place
Industrialized Country Country in which a great deal of manufacturing is done
Literacy Rate Percentage of people that can read and write
Overgraze To allow animals to strip areas so bare that plants cant grow back
Refugee A person who flees to a different country to avoid persecution or disaster
Savanna Broad grasslands with few trees, found in the tropics
Subsistence farm Small plot where a farmer grows only enough food to feed his own family
