Circumstantiality incidental thinking. Speech that is indirect and delayed reaching the point because of unnecessary, non-essential details. The goal of the thinking is ultimately reached.
Clang Association a disturbance in thinking in which the sound of the speech governs word choice. It may include rhyming or punning.
Claustrophobia dread of closed places
Compulsion a repetitive, compelling act, seemingly purposeful, that develops in response to an obsession or it is performed in accordance with certain rules or in a stereotypic manner. Uncontrollable impulse to perform an act repetitively.
Conversion Symptoms a loss or alteration of physical functioning that suggests a physical disorder, but that is actually a direct expression of a psychological conflict or need.
Clouding of Consciousness is impairment of retention, perception, and orientation. Common in organic mental disorders.
Coma a state of unawareness, nonreactiveness, and profound unconsciousness
Confusion disorientation in respect to time, place, or person accompanied by perplexity. Common in organic mental disorders.
Coprolalia compulsive utterance of obscene words.
Delusion fixed, false belief, based on incorrect inference (not in keeping with the person's cultural level)firmly sustained in spite of obvious proof to the contrary.
Persecutory Delusion a belief that one is singled out for oppression, attack, or harassment.
Delusion of being controlled a belief in which feelings, impulses, thought or actions, are experienced as being not one's own, as being imposed by some external force.
Bizarre Delusion a false belief that involves a phenomenon that the person's culture would regard as totally implausible.
Delusions of Grandeur an exaggerated belief in one's own importance, power, knowledge, or identity.
Nihilistic Delusions a belief involving the theme of nonexistence of the self or part of the self, others or the world
Delusions of Reference a false belief that the irrelevant remarks or acts of others refer to oneself. Also this may involve a false belief that events or objects in one's environement refer to oneself.
Somatic Delusions a deluded interpretation of physical symptoms. Also value in spite of evidence to the contrary.
Delusional Jealousy a false belief that one's sexual partner is unfaithful
Catalepsy a generalized diminished responsiveness or immobility characterized by trance-like states. Found in organic mental disorders.
