(DMS) Government

| Communist State | A form of government based on Communism. In theory, every citizen would be equal in all regards, including standard of living. In practice, Communism is more similar with a dictatorship, where members of the Communist party control the government. |
| Democracy | A form of government where people make the decisions, usually through voting. |
| Republic | A form of government where the people elect representatives that make the decisions. |
| Dictatorship | A form of government where a non-elected leader makes all the decisions. The people have no voice in decisions. |
| Constitution | A document defining the powers of government and the role of citizens, often associated with a republic. |
| Constitutional Monarchy | A form of government which possesses a king or queen as a nominal head of state, but where elected representatives possess control of decision making. Similar to a republic. |
| Dynasty | A family of rulers. |
| Monarchy | A form of dictatorship with a king or queen. |
| Parliament | A body of elected representatives called ministers that make decisions, such as enacting laws. Similar to the U.S. Congress. |
| Prime Minister | The leader of the ruling party in a Parliament, and as a result the leader of the Parliament. Similar to the U.S. President. |
| Theocracy | A form of government with religious leaders. |
