Eyepiece/Ocular Magnifies 10x
Coarse Adjustment Knob Moves body tube closer to stage and helps to focus on specimen. Do not use on high power.
Body tube Allows the light from the objective to pass upwars to form the first magnified image.
Fine Adjustment Knob Used for minute focusing. Use after focused with coarse adjustment knob.
Nosepiece Rotates to switch objective.
Medium-power Objective Lens Magnifies 10x
Arm Correct place to grip microscope.
High-power Objective Lens Magnifies 40x
Stage Platform that supports the specimen to be observed; has hole in center to allow light to pass through.
Stage Clips Holds the slide down to prevent any slight movement.
Diaphragm Controls how much light goes through the specimen.
Base Correct place to carry microscope.
Mirror/Bulb Light source.
Low-power Objective Lens Magnifies 4x and is the lens you should start and end on.
