temp. a measure of how hot or cold an object is.
charles law the principle that all gases expand equally for the same rise of temperature if they are held at a constant temperature.

combined gas law
phase change a change from one state ( solid, liquid or gas)to another without a change in chemical composition
evaporation to change or cause to change from a liquid or solid state to a vapour
boiling to change from a liquid to a gaseous state, producing bubbles of gas that rise to the surface of the liquid, agitating it as they rise.

vaporization to change or cause to change into vapour or into the gaseous state
condensation the result of being made more compact or dense.
sublimation to convert (a solid substance) by heat into a vapor, which on cooling condenses again to solid form, without apparent liquefaction.
deposition the phase change in which a gas or vapor changes directly into a solid without first changing into a liguid.
endothermic change a chemical reaction that absorbs energy from its surroundings
heat of fusion the energy an object must absorb to change from a solid to a liguid.
