| What is a solid? | The state of matter in which materials have a definate shape and a definate volume |
| What is a liquid? | The state of matter in which a material had a definate volume but not a defiante shape |
| What is a gas? | The state of matter in which a material has neither a definate shape nor a definate volume. |
| What is kinteic energy? | The enegry an object has due to it's motion |
| What is a phase change? | The reversible physical change that occurs when a substance changes from one state of matter to another |
| What is an endothermic? | A description of change in which a system absorbs energy from it's surroundings |
| What is a heat of fusion? | The energy a susbstance must absorb in order to change from a solid to a liquid |
| What is an exothermic? | A description of a change in which a system releases energy to it's surroundings |
| What is vaporization? | The phase change in which a substance changes from a liquid to a gas |
| What is heat of vaproization? | The enrgy a substance must absorb in order to change from a liquid to a gas |
| What is evaporation? | The process that changes a subsstance from a liquid to a gas at temperatures below the substances boiling point |
| What is vapor pressure? | The pressure cuased by the collisions of particles in a vapor with the walls of a container |
| What is condensation? | The phase change in which a substance changes from a gas or vapor to a liquid |
| What is sublimation? | The phase change in which a substance changes from a solid to a gas or vapor without changing to liquid frist |
| What is deposition? | The phase change in which a gas or vapor changes directly to a solid without changing into a liquid |
