QuestionAnswer
monitor comprehension Being aware of what you're reading by using different strategies such as main idea, drawining conclusions or author's purpose
repetition When a word, line, or phrase is repeated
Boldface Type Type or print that has thick heavy lines. Used for important words, headings or directions
Contractions Two words made into one by replacing letters with an apostrophe
Author's Purpose The reason an author writes; to persuade, entertain or to inform
refrain A phrase or verse that is repeated in a song or poem
autobiography story of a person's life written by that person
context clues clues in what you read that help you with story setting, characterization or word meaning
fantasy imaginary
synonym A word that means the same thing as another word
