Penny hits the ground in 4.5 seconds. What is its final velocity? deltaV= 9.8x 4.5 44.1 m/s
A brick falls and hits the ground with a velocity of 19.6 m/s. How long does the brick fall? deltaV= 9.8x1.5 14.7 m/s
You throw a 0.5 kg basketball with a force of 10N. What is the acceleration of the ball? A= 10N/ 0.5 kg Acceleration= 20 m/s2
What net force is acting on a 14 kg wagon that produces an acceleration of 1.5 m/s2? F= 14x 1.5 net force= 21 N
What is friction? A FORCE THAT OPPOSES MOTION 1. Static: when the opposing force is too strong to move 2. Sliding: when you clan slide the force together 3. Fluid: air resistance
What is Newton's 1st Law of Motion? An object at rest remains at at rest and an object in motion remains in motion until acted upon by an unbalanced force
What is terminal velocity? when the upward force of air resistance exactly matches the downward force of gravity
what is inertia? the tendency to resist change in motion
What is a Newton? Unit of force 1N= 1KG OVER 1 M/S2 1N= .22 LBS.
Difference between an unbalanced and balanced force Balanced force does not move, unbalanced motion does move
can you truly be weightless? NO, you are always going to be attracted to something.
