Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
What is matter? Anything that takes up space and has mass. (the stuff objects are made of)
How many tyes of matter exist? Infinate amount.
What are two ways to talk about matter? 1. Pure Substances 2. Mixtures (inpure)
What is pure matter? Has a fixed, uniform make-up. (always made up of the same things in the same amounts)
What are the ways pure matter can be divided into? 1. Elements 2. Compounds
What are elements? A substance that can be broken down into a simpler substance.
