QuestionAnswer
What is matter? Anything that takes up space and has mass.
How many types of matter exist? Infinite amount.
Pure matter can be divided into? Elements and Compounds.
What is an Element? A substance that can't be broken down into a simpler form.
What's the smallest piece of an Element? An Atom
Mixtures: Properties can vary b/c composition is not fixed, tend to retain properties of individual substances.
A type of mixtures? Heterogenous Mixture
Categories of heterogenous mixutres: Suspensions and colloids.
Some supensions are: Shake well before use, Seperate the layers and layers are tapped by filiter.
