Unit 2 motion vocab
| Question | Answer |

| Motion | Change in objects position that doesn't necessarily mean change in location. |
| Distance | The length an object travels. |
| Displacement | Distance and direction of the objects change in postition. |
| Speed | Distance an object travels per unit of time. |
| Velocity | Speed of an object and direction of its motion. |
| Reference Point | The point at which you start. |
| Vector Quantity | Has direction. |
| Scalar | Doesn't have direction. |
| Quantity | How much of something you have. |
| Constant Speed | Speed at which you stay the same. |
| Average Speed | Total distance an object travels divided by the total time it takes to travel that distance. |
| Instantaneous Speed | Speed of an object at a given point in time. (Changes) |
| Accerlation | Rate of change of velocity; can be calculated by dividing the change in velocity by the time it takes the change to occur. |
| Deceleration | Slowing down. |
