What is Copyright? Copyright is the legal right of ownership to the work produced in books, music, plays, graphics/pictures and computer software.
What does Copyright protect? Copyright protects tangible expression of ideas.
What is the purpose of Copyright? The purpose of copyright is to protect the creator of a creative work.
What is the punishment for Infringement? If you infringe on someone else’s copyright you can be sued.
What is Fair Use? Fair use allows copyrighted work to be repurposed and used in another work.
What are some examples of Fair Use? Education Commentary or criticism News reporting Parody or making fun of work Using a small portion of the work
What is Derivative Work? An example of a derivative work would be a screenplay for a movie based on the book.
What is Software? Programs that tell a computer what to do are called software.

What is public Domain Software? Public domain software is Non-copyrighted software that anyone may copy or use without charge.
