| fluoxetine(Prozac) | causes more serotonin to be available. used for depression&some types of anxiety.few SE.may cause CNS stimulation:agitation,anxiety,insomnia,sexual dysfunction, bruxism(teeth grinding).pregnancy risk cat. C:risk for birth defects. |
| venlafaxine(Effexor) | similar to SSRI's; may also affect serotonin levels as well as norepinephrine. may not have as much weight gain. used for chronic pain. |
