Plastics Test

Synthetic Man made material. Most plastics derive from oil. Working on bio plastic.
Atom Tiny basic building blocks of matter. Everything is made from atoms.
Molecule 2 or more atoms joined together.
Polymer Long chain of identical molecules. All plastics are polymers.
Themoplastic MELTS when heated. Thermo = heat. Some molecules split apart.
Thermoplastic Uses Plastic bottles, bags.
Thermosetting plastic DOES NOT MELT when heated. Set = can't be changed, not affected by heat. Very durable resistant, hard to recycle.
Thermosetting plastic Uses Electrical parts, hair dryers. Very durable, resistant.
