Choir Terms
| Beat | Steady pulse of music |

| Quarter Note | One beat of sound |
| Quarter rest | One beat of silence |
| Bar Line | Vertical line that groups notes and rests together |
| Measure | The space between the bar line |
| Meter | Way of organizing rhythm |
| Time signature | Set of numbers at the begging of a piece of music |
| Staff | 5 lines and 4 spaces which notes are written on |
| Clef | Symbol at the begging of a staff that indicates which lines/spaces represent which note |
| Treble clef | Clef that generally indicates notes that sound higher than middle c. |
| Grand staff | A staff that is created when 2 staves are joined together. |
| Scale | Group of pitches which are sung or played in succession on a certain note. |
| Key | determined by it's home tone or tonic |
| Rhythm | Combination of long and short notes/rests. |
| Half Note | Note that represents 2 beats of sound. |
| Half rest | rest that represents 2 beats of silence. |
