Beat Steady pulse of all music
Quater Note beat of sound
Quater Rest on beat of silence
Barline vertical line that groups notes and rest together
Measure the space between the bar lines
Meter way of oraganzing rhythm
Staff fives lines and four spaces on which notes are written
Clef symbol at the beginning of a staff that indicate which lines and space represent which notes
Treble Clef clef that sounds higher than middle C
Bass Clef a clef that geneally indicate notes that sound lower than middle C.
Grand staff a staff that is created when two staves created when two spaces are joined
Scale group of pitches which are sung or played is based on a particules home tone (tonic)
Key determined by its home tone or tonic
Rhyhm combination of long and short notes and rest
half note note that represents two beat of sound
half rest rest that represent two beats of slience
