French Revolution

Why did the revolution start? King Louis XVI had lots of power so didn't know what to do with it. The French were inspired by the success of the American's. The Queen was greatly disliked.
When did this start? 1798
What was the Estates? The first Estate: The clergy(bishops and priests) The Second Estates:The nobility The Third Estates: The rest of the French people.
What taxs did only the third estate pay? -Taille:This was land rent. -Tithe: Peasants had to hand over one tenth of their crops every year to support the clergy of the Catholic Church.
What was the Meeting of the Estates-General? King Louis wanted to raise money to pay frances debts.He called a meeting of three estates for May 1789.
When is Bastille day? 14 July
Why was King Louis executed? He was found with a hidden safe that held documents about the king plotting with other countries to overthrow the revolution.
Who was Robespierre? He was the President of the ' committee of public safety'.
When was Robespierre executed? 27 July 1794.
What was the results of the French Revolution? The Influence on Ireland,Abolition of slavery,Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
