positions for radiography

1.PA PROJECTION OF CHEST (ERECT) 14x17 lengthwise pt standing erect facing IR shoulders rolled forward and downward. chin up. back of hands on hips. CR-level T-7. 7-8" below vertical prominems and at mid sagital plane. double inspiration.
2.LEFT LATERAL CHEST (ERECT) 14x17 lengthwise pt erect. L side against IR. arms raised above head. chin up. CR-perpendicular to midthorax at T-7. (3-4 inches below level of jugular notch). mid sagital plane. double inspiration.
3.AP LORDOTIC OF CHEST (ERECT) 14x17 lengthwise pt standing 1 ft away from IR and leaning back with shoulders, neck, and back of head against IR. both hands on hips, palms out, shoulders rolled forward. CR-centered midsternum (3-4" below jugular notch). mid sagital plane. double inspiration.
4.R OR L LATERAL DECUBITUS CHEST, AP OR PA 14x17 lengthwise pt laying on L side for L lateral decubitus. chin extended. both arms raised above head. back firmly against IR. knees flexed slightly. height of IR to center of thorax. top of IR 1" above vertical prominems. CR-to center of IR, level of T7
5.AP RIBS ABOVE THE DIAPHRAGM 14x17 lengthwise inspiration. CR-T7. rotate shoulders anteriorly. top of IR 1.5" above shoulders. arms at side
6.AP RIBS BELOW THE DIAPHRAGM (SUPINE) 14x17 crosswise EXPIRATION. CR-midway between xiphoid process (T9) and lower rib cage (L2). bottom of IR at iliac crest.
7.AP OBLIQUE PROJECTION, RPO OR LPO POSITION FOR RIBS ABOVE THE DIAPHRAGM 14x17 lengthwise inspiration. affected side against IR. 45^ I'm a little teapot pose. CR-T7. midway between mid sag and mid coronal planes.
8.PA OBLIQUE PROJECTION, RAO OR LAO POSITION FOR RIBS ABOVE THE DIAPHRAGM (ERECT) 14x17 lengthwise inspiration. affected side away from IR. 45^. I'm a little teapot. CR-midway between mid sag plane and mid coronal plane. T7.
9.RIGHT OR LEFT LATERAL STERNUM (ERECT) 10x12 lengthwise INSPIRATION pt standing w/arms and shoulders drawn back. CR-to center of sternum. mid coronal plane. collimate.
10.PA OBLIQUE PROJECTION, RAO POSITION FOR THE STERNUM (ERECT) 10x12 lengthwise BREATHING TECHNIQUE. pt facing IR, oblique 15-20^. right side against IR. top of IR 1.5" above jugular notch. CR-center of sternum, 1" to left of spine.
11.PA PROJECTION FOR SC JOINTS 10x12 crosswise EXPIRATION pt facing IR. CR-T2,3. (3" distal to vertibra prominems).
