Leif Eriksson In the year 1000 he sailed west from Norway and Greenland when strong winds blew him off course to the North American shore. He landed on the Newfoundland but named it Vinland.
Prince Henry the Navigator In the early 1400s he built an observatory founded a navigation school to teach better methods of sailing. HE had payed for expeditions to explore west coast of Africa.
Bartolomeu Dias He led an expedition from porugal all around the southern coast of africa. He had called off the expedition because his crew did not to keep going.
Vasco de Gama He led an expedition around the cape of good hope. He left in 1497 and arrived in India the next year.
Christopher Columbus FromGenoa Italy, HE sailed for Spain. He set sail on August 3 1492. On October 12 his lookout crew spotted land. Columbus thought it was Asia yet it was the Bahamas.
Ferdinand Magellan he was a portugal navigator, who died on his voyage but his crew finished it for him.
Bartolomeu de las Casa He was the priest for about Columbus and wrote the letter to the king and queen of spain about their trip.
