Tariff A tariff is a tax that is placed on imported goods when they are brought into a country.
Trade barrier A trade barrier is any obstacle that makes it difficult for goods and services to be traded between countries.
Embargo An embargo is a complete ban on trade between countries, usually for political reasons.
Fascism Fascism is a way of ruling that advocates total control of the people.
Literacy rate Literacy rate: The literacy rate is the percentage of people in a given population who are able to read and write.
Propaganda Propaganda is information or ideas that are spread to influence the opinions or beliefs of people.
Smog Smog is a type of air pollution that results from a mixture of smoke and fog.
Specialization: Specialization is the process of focusing on a particular area of expertise or skill, often in order to become more productive or efficient in that area.
Air pollution in United Kingdom Air pollution in the U.K. has been a problem for centuries, with coal burning during the industrial revolution causing severe smog. Today, traffic, industry, and farming contribute to poor air quality, leading to respiratory, and cardiovascular problems.
Acid rain Acid rain in Germany is caused by emissions from industries and transportation, which release sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere, resulting in harmful precipitation.
Antisemitism Antisemitism is the hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people. This was a large factor that led to the Holocaust during World War II.
Permafrost Permafrost refers to a layer of soil or sediment that remains frozen for at least two consecutive years.
Permafrost It is found in regions with cold climates, such as the Arctic and Antarctic, and plays an important role in regulating global climate by storing large amounts of carbon.
Rural Rural refers to areas that are located outside of cities or towns, typically characterized by agriculture, natural resources, and low population density.
